Forgotten Cake

6 egg whites
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

Beat egg whites until frothy. Sprinkle salt and cream of tartar over top and beat until stiff. Gradually beat in sugar. Add vanilla flavoring and beat until it forms a peak. Pour into a well buttered 9" spring mold. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. As soon as pan is in the oven turn off heat and forget until morning.
