Yeast Angel Food Cake

2 cakes yeast
1/4 cup water
1 cup milk (scalded)
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup shortening
3 1/4 cups flour
1 egg
1/2 tsp. cardimum

Soften 2 cakes of yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Scald milk and add sugar, salt, and shortening. Cool until luke warm. Add 1 cup flour, beaten egg and yeast. Beat thoroughly. Add remaining flour and cardimum and beat well. Let rise until double in bulk and bake 35-40 minutes at 375 degrees.

Topping: Blend 1/3 cup powdered sugar, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 cup chopped nuts and sprinkle over the top.
