Frosted Delights

Another blast from the past found inside the cover of a Jelke's GOOD LUCK Vegetable Oleomargarine. Enjoy!

1/2 c. Jelke's GOOD LUCK Margarine
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1-1/2 c. sifted pastry flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Cream GOOD LUCK Margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the beaten eggs and sifted dry ingredients. Add vanilla and mix ingredients well. Spread the batter onto a baking sheet, spreading as thinly as possible. Frost with the following frosting.

Frosting for Frosted Delights

Ingredients:

1 c. light brown sugar
1 egg white
1 c. nutmeats, chopped

Remove lumps from the brown sugar. Beat egg white until stiff. Fold in the sugar. Spread onto the cookie batter. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake in a moderate oven, (325 degrees) for 30 minutes. Cut in squares.
